skins pick up jackson BY ANDREW @aJZSPORTS ON TWITTER
Theres been a recent debate over Desean Jackson, Pro Bowl Eagles Wide Receiver. He was just released by the Eagles and that doesn't just happen to a player as high quality as him. The Eagles were concerned about potential ties to a hometown gang. He has been seen showing gang hand signals and some of his instagram pictures show that. However, even wight these concerns he's going to turn the whole free agent market upside- down. The Washington Redskins, Buffalo Bills and Oakland Raiders were interested in him. The team that he is now with is the Eagles rival the Washington Redskins. That will be a powerful threat for Robert Griffin III to look for. However, the Redskins need to get RG3 into better condition because last season was atrocious. We'll see what change this new pickup is to the NFC East and to the NFL. 4-8-14
its gonna be cold by andrew
This years Super Bowl in New York is going to be freezing. Hopefully, that won't take away from the experience but in December its cold in Metlife Stadium. Theres no telling what the weather might be like in early February. Bundle up Super Bowl fans because these weathers are really hard to bear. Especially, if you bought a ticket hoping to see your 49ers in the Big Game. Weather is different in NY and NJ then in CA. However, fans from Denver, Seattle and New England might have somewhat of an advantage to this weather. Also, this talk of the weather brings up a big question. Which daring football player is going to wear short sleeves in this possible small version of the Ice Bowl?
LEGARRETTE WITH A RUN-THROUGH OF THE COLTS By LUCAS
-FOXBORO, MASSACHUSETTS
It was quite a sight Saturday night at Gillette Stadium as the New England
Patriots defeated the Indianapolis Colts 43-22. LeGarrette Blount, Patriots
running back had 4 rushing touchdowns, and ran for 166 yards with an average
of 6.9 yards per carry. I have a question for my readers. Before the start
of this game, did you think that Tom Brady would not throw for 200 yards and
not through a touchdown pass throughout the game? Did you think the Patriots
would score 6 times on the ground?
Probably not. But that is what happened. Tom Brady threw for 198 yards and
had 52% accuracy. His leading receiver was Julian Edelman, who had 6
receptions for 84 yards, averaging 14 yards a reception. Danny Amendola also
had a big night. His three receptions had him have 77 yards, averaging 25.7
yards per reception.
In the first quarter, the Patriots scored two times with 7:17 left on the
clock while the Colts had two possessions: an Andrew Luck interception and a
3 and out. But Andrew Luck bounced back. He threw LaVon Brazill in the end
zone for a 38 yard reception for Brazill. The score at the half was Colts
12, Patriots 21.
The second half was like the first half. The Patriots scored 22 points on
the Colt defense while the Colts only scored 10 points in the second half.
LeGarrette Blount had a 73-yard touchdown run. Steven Ridley ran in a 1 yard
touchdown run for his second rushing touchdown of the day, sealing any type
of comeback from the Colts. The New England Patriots will march right in to
Denver to face the Denver Broncos at Sports Authority Field next Sunday
afternoon.

frostbite bites again in green bay by lucas
Green Bay, Wisconsin
It was definitely a sight to see in the San Francisco 49ers locker room
after their 23-20 victory over the Green Bay Packers. Kicker Phil Dawson
must have been extra happy after kicking the game winning field goal. It was
his 3rd field goal of the game. Dawson, #9, scored 11 points in the game.
That included 2 extra points to touchdowns by running back Frank Gore and
tight end Vernon Davis. Colin Kaepernick ran for 98 yards on 7 carries,
and that is a wild card game high for rushing yards. Kaepernick also threw for 227 yards,
a 28-yard TD pass to Vernon Davis and an interception early on. Michael
Crabtree had a big night. He caught 8 passes for 125 yards. That was half of
the total passes Kaepernick threw.
The Green Bay Packers struggled early. Punting the ball on its first three
possessions. They didn't even get a first down. Nor did future Hall of Fame
quarterback Aaron Rogers complete a pass in the first quarter. But he
rebounded. Rodgers went 17-26 in the whole game with one touchdown pass to
Jordy Nelson. But the difference maker were the sacks. Green Bay lost 20
yards off of 4 sacks. That is 5 yards a play! The 49ers only lost 13 yards
on 3 sacks. After averaging 14.0 yards per run, 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick
had another night where he ripped the Green Bay defense.
Look out for the San Francisco 49ers next week as they take on the Carolina
Panthers on FOX, 1:05 PM ET on Sunday January, 12th, live from Carolina.

the craziest division by jack
Whether it’s game changers, ties, win or go home game, the NFC North is definitely the craziest division throughout this past 2013 NFL regular season.
Lets first talk about the Green Bay Packers. They started out 5-3 and then star quarterback Aaron Rodgers got injured! (Collarbone Injury and out for 8 weeks) In a couple of weeks, they tie with rivals Minnesota Vikings. Without Aaron Rodgers, with Matt Flynn at quarterback the Green Bay Packers were 2-4-1. Week 17 will determine if the Packers will go to the playoffs or get eliminated from the playoffs. They play verse the Bears to decide who goes to the playoffs. The Packers won from an unbelievable comeback.
Now lets talk about the Chicago Bears. Before their bye week the Bears were 4-3 and after their bye week they were 4-4. Having Jay Cutler as quarterback or Josh McCowan as quarterback, no one actually was a leader for most of their games. Alshon Jeffery surprised lots of fantasy football players when he had 86 recoveries, 7 touchdowns, 1,341 yards and 15.6 yards per catch. Brandon Marshall has had 94 recoveries, 1,221 yards, 11 touchdowns and 13 yards per catch. Matt Forte had 1,229 yards out of 331 attempts which means he had 4.6 yards per rush. He had 7 touchdowns too. Lots of working together, alright. Unfortunately, they lost in a playoff deciding game and lost.
Third we are going to talk about the Detroit Lions. Matthew Stafford has had a huge improvement from this year and last year, 4,433 yards and 28 touchdowns with 349 completions. Calvin Johnson had 1,492 yards on 84 recoveries which equals 17.8 yards per recovery. He had 12 touchdowns too. They started out with the best record in their division with six wins and three losses. After their sixth win they lost six out of their next seven games. In Week 16, the New York Giants eliminated them.
Last we’re going to talk about the Minnesota Vikings. They tied with the Packers. Their whole team functioned in different ways. They had four quarterbacks starting for them. Adrian Peterson got injured and did not have his best year. They also had a bad bye week. Week 5 is a bad bye week because you just had the offseason. After the bye week they lost four in a row. Before the bye week they were 1-3. As a whole team, I think they can just say, “We are having great careers but cannot have a good team throughout our careers.”

Defense? forget about it. by andrew
For some teams a defense is not needed. Other teams however, need their defense to run smoothly. Lets talk about three successful teams. Number one the Denver Broncos. Some people might say that they will definitely go to the Super Bowl. Is this true? No defense might just be the killer for them. Next talk about the San Fransisco 49ers. I think they might go to the Super Bowl too. They have a good mix of Offense and Defense. While having one of the best defenses in the league their offense is strong with running and passing. Even a little QB running too. Next the New England Patriots. They have a good record but that doesn't mean they're going to New Jersey. They have great passing and good rushing too. But defense is a weak spot. They are 29th in the league about opposing rushing yardage. What if you play Marshawn Lynch in the Super Bowl how are you going to stop him if you can't stop anyone else? The Patriots offense is good but they have nearly lost many games due to defense. They have played in 9 games where it has come down to the last 4 points. That is not a good sign. The 9ers have a good shot in my opinion and may have an advantage over teams that don't no how to stop offenses.
a lucky course of events BY ANDREW
I know that this website doesn't cover the NCAA but when there is a good game you can rely on us for the information. Auburn defeated Alabama at the last second. Another thriller for Auburn. Previously, Auburn defeated Georgia on another miracle play. A hail mary that was on top of the defenders but was tipped into the hands of an Auburn receiver Ricardo Lewis. Talk about a lucky course of events. During this game with under 10 seconds remaining it was a tie game. It looked like there would be overtime. TJ Yeldon of Alabama ran for 24 yards and then out of bounds. The refs reviewed whether or not he was in bounds with time remaining on the clock. Auburn fans wanted overtime. Alabama fans wanted to have another second left on the clock. The refs decided that Yeldon stepped out of bounds with one second remaining on the clock. Alabama had previously missed three field goals in the game but decided to attempt another one. This time they would be using a different kicker This kicker is Adam Grifithh. It would be a 57 yard field goal. A player from Auburn would go back to see if he could return the field goal if it was shorts. HIKE. The kick was short and it fell into the hands of Chris Davis. Chris Davis ran up the outside all the way to Alabama's side of the field. This won the game for Alabama. No one can say this game wasn't exciting especially with the 99 yard pass that Alabama completed earlier in the game. The only thing that could beat that was a 100 yard return for Auburn to win the game. Congratulations and good luck to Auburn as they continue on the road to the SEC championship.
