10. Mariano Rivera is voted our 10th best athlete of 2013. Although this year was not his greatest it was his last and all of sports fans remembered this great. He also won All Star Game MVP this year. After reflecting on a great career Mariano is our 10th best athlete of this year.
9. Andrew Mcutchen definetely deserves this spot at number 9. This man won NL MVP and that says enough but theres more. He batted at .317 and stole 27 bases. He hit 21 home runs and he definitely helped the Pirates go to the playoffs. Andrew Mcutchen well deserves this spot.
8. Jimmy Graham is rated our 8th best player of the year. Although he did not break any records or reflect on a great career his stats sure are something. With the season not even over he has over 1,000 receiving yards and 15 touch downs. Some Wide Receivers don't have as good stats as Graham. This is why Jimmy is number 8 on our rankings. 7. Tim Duncan is at number 7. He lead the San Antonio Spurs to the NBA Finals last season. Although, this season is not as good as his last season, last season takes up a big chunk of the year. He averaged over 17 Points Per Game and has almost 10 Rebounds Per Game. This season he doesn't average as many points but he dos average over 9 rebounds again. This year he averages 14.1 Points Per Game. (AS OF DECEMBER 29 2013)
6. This was a difficult decision. But Jamaal Charles has proved to be right to protect this spot. Jamaal is doing great this year and some other teams would really like to have him on their roster. He dominated a little while ago combining receiving and rushing. He had five touchdowns in that game and 4 were receiving. This year he has proved that he can be a solid Running Back and maybe even a Wide Receiver too.
5. Max Scherzer of the Detroit Tigers definitely earned the number five spot. He had an amazing record this season. He had 21 wins and only 3 losses. His ERA was 2.90 and that is impressive. He also had 240 Strikeouts. Lastly, he started the All Star Game for the American League Team.
4. VOTE FOR NUMBER FOUR
3. Miguel Cabrera welcome back to the list. Last year Miggy was also on the list because he won the triple crown. This year he got on the list for stats and awards. This year he came close to the triple crown. He batted at .348 (best in MLB). He hit 44 homers (2nd in MLB). He got 137 RBI's (2nd in MLB. He had 1 less RBI than the first place player Chris Davis.)
2. Lebron James moves up 7 spots from last year. He led the Heat to their second straight championship this June and his two seasons combined are incredible. This season and last season his PPG is high. He has gained the nickname the KING for one reason. He is the King.
1.Peyton Manning is our best athlete of the year. He has moved up 2 spots from last year because he is simply good. This year he has led the Broncos to win after win and he uses every man he has. Whether he goes to Wes Welker, Demarius Thomas, Julius Thomas or Eric Decker he finds completions. He also finds Touchdowns and so far this year he has 51. That breaks an NFL record. Even though the Broncos don't have a great defense they might be able to go to the super bowl because of how strong the offense is. That offense is led by Peyton Manning. Not only does he lead the league in Touchdowns he leads the league in Yards. He is third in the NFL in completion percent. He will Probably also win MVP in a landslide. Congratulations to Peyton Manning for coming in first.
